About Edward II
David Bintley’s production for the Birmingham Royal Ballet tells the bloody tale of Kind Edward II’s obsession with a childhood friend that ultimately culminates in his own violent murder at the hands of his wife’s lover. Jasper Conran’s designs travel through five centuries of fashion starting with the medieval era and ending with bondage inspired costumes worn by Edward’s gaolers.
