Tombeaux

David Bintley’s moving homage to classical ballet is a lament on the death of his mentor, Frederick Ashton. Danced to William Walton’s awe-inspiring Variations on a Theme by Paul Hindemith, Tombeaux is a haunting collaboration with Jasper Conran.
The designs are sombre with a profound dignity. The women’s deep indigo tutus haloed by a corona of lighter blue are complimented by darker tones of the colour for their male counterparts.
