The Travelling Circus

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Numbers in our London studio are dwindling as everyone heads off for a break in the sun before the frantic preparations for London Fashion Week really kick in. While some are headed to Europe and beyond, others are relishing the hot weather at home and the best of British festivals and seasonal treats.

If you are in the UK - try to see Gifford’s Travelling Circus this summer as it tours around village greens in the South West. This charmingly old-fashioned production is everything you would imagine a circus to be – tightrope walkers under a big top tent – wild displays of horsemanship in a sawdust ring – clowns, jugglers, acrobats, musicians and even a man in a bear suit.

This unique and intimate production is captured in Jasper’s rural photography book ‘Country’. Click on the main image to view the slideshow.
