Mad hatters

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

This season, Jasper and milliner Stephen Jones put their heads together to create a striking assortment of hats for the collection.

Inspired by the summer playgrounds of Deauville, Le Touquet, Biarritz, Amalfi and Capri - Jasper envisaged a modern interpretation of the cloche and the sunhat. Stephen visited the studio to discuss ideas and sketched out some potential shapes.

The hats were fashioned from layers of soft tulle in colours complementing each outfit. On show day Stephen and his team were backstage fitting each piece and making any final adjustments – all wearing hats themselves of course!

Italian Vogue were also on-site filming for a documentary on Stephen’s millinery. This year he celebrated his 30th in the fashion industry with a retrospective exhibition at the MoMu-Fashion Museum in Antwerp.
