Getting away

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

The launch of Jasper’s latest luggage collection for Tripp has got us thinking about getting away from the city for an indulgent weekend before Christmas.

It’s probably fair to say that the thought of holidaying in December in the UK does not fill everyone with excitement – biting winds, driving rain and the potential for heavy snowfall are not ideal weather conditions for a relaxing vacation. However, if it’s unique architecture and awe inspiring scenery that you’re after, then few places are better than Blighty.

Thanks to the Landmark Trust - a charity that preserves buildings of architectural interest and then turns them into holiday lets for all to enjoy - the public have the opportunity to stay in some truly remarkable properties. From medieval castles, to a nineteenth century train station to picturesque lighthouses, the Landmark Trust has hundreds of beautifully restored buildings all across the UK available for short-term stays.

Whether it’s a cosy rural cottage or an imposing stately home, Jasper’s new luggage range is suitable for all holiday locations. There’s the glamorous Dangerous Weekend line with its glossy croc pieces, the elegant brocade bags in dark gold or the glistening purple damask suitcases. All combine that sought after mix of style with functionality and all are most definitely inkeeping with the most decadent of surroundings…

The three properties in our slideshow are currently all available for let over the festive period. Visit the Landmark Trust website for more information.
