Nothing quite says Christmas like the tradition of making a Christmas Pudding; secret recipes are often handed down through families for generations, but the key essentials always remain the same: sweet spices, suet, dark sugars, black treacle, dried fruits and alcohol.

We love this footage from 1963 which shows the creation of a giant Christmas pudding - a tradition continued to this day by London’s very own Chelsea Pensioners.
