6 DAYS TO GO... ITALY: A CELEBRATION OF DIANA VREELAND

Sunday, February 12th, 2012

With Milan Fashion Week hot on the tails of London, Italy celebrates the life of fashion legend Diana Vreeland with the opening of a new exhibition at the Museo de Fortuny in Venice.

Vreeland - who invented the role of fashion editor as we know it - created an attitude to style which inspired writers, designers and photographers alike and one which still resonates to this day. Vreeland’s career spanned editorships at Harper’s BAZAAR and US Vogue, during which time she questioned, without irony; “Is there anything beyond fashion?” She went on to found the Metropolitan Costume Institute.

You can learn more about the life of Diana Vreeland in a book entitled ‘Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel,’ in addition to a film of the same name.
