The P.R.
26 August 2010
“Over a thousand requests and just six hundred seats,” our P.R. Jenny calculates, as she navigates a large-scale map of the catwalk.
From her office at 36 Sackville Street, she is in the midst of the seemingly impossible task of building the seating plan. In the lead up to London Fashion Week, it is her responsibility to allocate invitations, media accreditations and the most coveted - backstage passes!
When it comes to show day, it is never a struggle to spot Jenny, usually wearing a brightly coloured Jasper dress - she stands out amidst the black fashion ‘uniform’. She loves the buzz surrounding the show and the chance to catch up with members of the press, stylists and clients.
After fashion week, she acts as ‘guardian’ of the new collection, co-ordinating the back and forth of catwalk samples. The looks are ‘called in’ by editors for fashion shoots, borrowed by stylists to dress their VIP’s and selected by our private clients to be made to order.
Jenny studied Costume Design for the Performing Arts at the London College of Fashion, working for the English National Opera before joining our Bridal Salon and moving into the Press Office.
