As a designer, Jasper Conran is an expert in fabric, texture and colour, so he is the perfect choice to explore the countryside with fresh eyes. It's a big subject, and Country is a big book. In it, Conran goes in search of rural England with photographer Andrew Montgomery, whose images sometimes flirt with sentimentality but are more often sublime. Poppies trembling under Somerset storm clouds, a bullrush harvest in Bedfordshire and glimpses of country homes and country ways are just some of the subjects gorgeously illustrated alongside Conran's lively observations.
