From the moment you step over the threshold at 36 Sackville Street you are embraced by Jasper Conran’s contemporary interiors set against a splendid Georgian back-drop.
No other setting defines the Jasper Conran brand like 36 Sackville Street. Here you’ll find a couture haven in the beautifully restored Georgian building. A place where his womenswear, menswear, bridal, living, drinking and dining collections can be seen under one roof. It is truly ‘the House of Jasper Conran’. The interiors and every piece of furniture, down to the door handles, were masterminded by Jasper Conran.
Jasper Conran’s passion for the Georgian style has inspired him to restore the original 1730s townhouse, layering his own contemporary interior designs against the original features. Now - by appointment – you can experience the sumptuous surroundings and relaxed privacy. From the woman trying on a bespoke dress for a special occasion, the man who is indulging himself with a made-to measure suit to the bride-to-be and her attendants arriving for an appointment.
The drawing room welcomes guests to Sackville Street’s charms – the meeting point at this grand house. To the rear of the ground floor, the menswear room provides a masculine space to browse the rails of made-to-measure suits, including silk cotton mixes for summer tailoring and wool/cashmere blends. Each made-to-measure suit can be customised to suit the gentleman’s taste - a special lining, to a peak lapel to co-ordinated pocket squares.
The original stone staircase sweeps up to the womenswear and bridal rooms on the first floor. Here the back room overlooks the buxus-lined terrace and serene Georgian architecture of the renowned menswear establishment, Albany. The womenswear room, where bespoke pieces straight from the season’s show await that special occasion, is positioned at the front of the house.
A further intimate staircase spirals up to the second floor where the dining and living collections are on display. Here you can browse the displays of fine bone china and crystal tableware and view the stunning pieces of bespoke furniture Jasper Conran designed specifically for this house.
Perhaps the couture house’s best kept secret is on the top floor - ‘the red carpet room’ - where Jasper Conran’s evening dress collection resides to be hand picked by stylists for glamorous events.
